What services do Learning Disability Wales provide?

Information Service

You can contact us if you need more information on an issue or for access to our extensive database of numbers and contacts.

We also have an extensive library of information on policies, services and aspects of life which affect people with a learning disability.

Llais, a bi-lingual quarterly journal, will keep you informed about new service developments and issues, covering the latest thinking on all aspects of life, from housing to employment. Llais provides a unique all-Wales platform for spreading information and highlighting good practice, and also to raise discussion and debate around promoting the right to an ordinary life for people with a learning disability.

Llais Update is our monthly newsletter. This gives up to date news about policy developments, information on resources, and local issues around Wales, together with a selected listing of relevant training opportunities and current events.

Our Accessible Information Service enables organisations and statutory agencies to produce information in formats that are easier to understand for people with learning disabilities. We also offer an E-news service, keeping members up-to-date with important and urgent information via email.

Briefing packs and papers are also produced for information on relevant issues.

Policy work and campaigning

We lobby government and other agencies on the issues that matter most to people with a learning disability and put forward a voluntary sector viewpoint.

Regular training, conferences and seminars

We have an ongoing programme of training, conferences and seminars that take place around Wales, to keep you informed about topical issues.

When your agency wants a piece of work undertaken and you particularly want to work with people with learning disabilities, contact us. We have a track record of completing high quality projects for agencies.
