Shocking call to lump learning disability into mental health
A paper commissioned by Edwina Hart MBE AM, the Minister for Health and Social Services, has put forward a principle recommendation that a statutory body 'responsible for mental health and well being in Wales' is established. More worryingly it further recommends that the body would 'provide and lead services for people with learning disabilities'.

Undod\Unity - the new festival that celebrates inclusive arts created by learning disabled, disabled and non-disabled people working together
Undod\Unity is created by Hijinx Theatre, Touch Trust and Wales Millennium Centre and takes place at the Centre from 16–20 June 2008 as part of Mencap Learning Disability Week. The aim of Undod\Unity is to raise the profile of inclusive arts, create debate and offer opportunities for people with and without disability to participate in the arts. We invite you to come down to Wales Millennium Centre to watch stage performances, see film screenings and take part in workshops and talks.

How well does the NHS in Wales Commission and Provide Specialist Learning Disability Services for Young People and Adults?
The Healthcare Inspectorate Wales have published their findings from their All Wales Review on Specialist Learning Disability Services. According to the report, support for people with learning disabilities in Wales is fragmented leaving some living far away from their families. The review also found major gaps in the system, especially at school leaving age.
