Direct Payments are not the answer for all individuals and situations, but many more could be designing their own services if given the chance and the support. These workshops will help you to explore some of the options available.

Course Aims
The course aims to take you beyond the basic knowledge of what Direct Payments is about. It will identify some barriers that might get in the way of people accessing Direct Payments and look at empowering people with a learning disability to use creative solutions to accessing the scheme.
Designed for
We have designed two separate days:
Course 1 will be relevant and accessible to the people who might use a Direct Payment for themselves or someone they know well.
Course 2 is designed for Care Managers or other professionals who will help people to access or apply for a Direct Payment
After the course participants should be able to:
- Develop strategies that will enable more people to consider Direct Payments
