Current Consultations and Policies
Care Standards Act 2000 - Review of Regulations and National Minimum Standards (NMS) for Independent Healthcare
This consultation sets out a programme of reform of the current regulatory framework for independent healthcare in Wales. The standards were first published by the Welsh Assembly Government in 2002 and have not been amended since then. Since the current NMS have been in place, health care practice and provision has continued to develop as a consequence of innovation, research and learning. This means that new service models are continually emerging and the revised standards are designed to: reflect current healthcare practice; align to the new standards for the NHS in Wales.
